Faces of Davidson

In early 2008 we organized a portrait project we titled "Faces of Davidson." Davidson is a charming town in North Carolina with an old-fashioned, tree-lined Main Street.

We asked people in the town to suggest or nominate folks who typified the community for them. We got many, MANY suggestions, which told us that Davidson residents care deeply about their town and the people that live there.

In selecting the subjects for the portraits, we enlisted the help of several residents and chose those who were nominated more than once. In the process, we got to know some wonderful people, and hope that they got to know a little about us.

Thanks to everyone who gave us suggestions and to all of our subjects.
